Kumho Art Academy – Lectures on theories pertaining to culture and art.
Kumho Art Academy is a regular lecture program composed of lectures mainly on art, music, architecture, and design. Since 1987, this program has provided information and knowledge throughseasoned experts in the fields of culture and art.
Kids Popcorn – Workshop for children
Kids Popcorn is an art workshop specifically created for children. In this program,presented in collaboration with artists selected fromKumho Young Artist and resident artists of the Kumho Art Studio, children are given unique opportunities to experience creative, professional artistic activities.
Special Lectures
This program was designed to provide art majors and experts with overall expertise in culture and art and the opportunity to share their knowledge with others. Titled “City and Culture,” the special lecture program currently available is intended to offer architects and architecture critics an opportunity to comprehend the culture and the city we live in by allowing the participants to pay keen attention to urban and architectural culture around their area of living. The first lectures were presented by Professor Yu Hong-jun and journalist Ku Bon-joon in 2012. In 2013 an expert from Studio Gaon and Professor Park Hae-cheon delivered lectures followed by curator Bae Hyung-min and Ahn Chang-mo in 2014 who curated an exhibit for the Korean Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale.
Programs Connected to Exhibitions
Educational programs being offered in conjunction with an exhibition include a variety of events such as practical workshops for children and seminars in accordance with the characteristics of each exhibition. These programs provide children as well as the general public with an opportunity to easily understand contemporary art at the exhibition venue and serve as forums for in-depth discussions through expert seminars.
