2023. 3. 17 - 4. 23

1F Wonjin KIM 《Dancing in the Thin Air》

2F Youngho JEONG 《Double Retina》

3F JO JAE 《Melting Things》

Wonjin Kim visualizes her contemplation on the temporal limitation of memory and the material finitude of the media that embraces the memory. In this exhibition, Kim presents a series of works for which she thinly cuts the drawings made about the emotions in the past and pastes the pieces' front and back sides alternately. It creates a seemingly broken screen as if the restoration of memories has failed. Such repetitive and labor-intensive act indicates the property of time and materializes accumulated moments in an individual's history.

Youngho Jeong focuses on the form of photographic work that reveals the extent beyond visibility. In this exhibition, based on the disagreement between rational comprehension and practical experience of a social issue, Jeong demonstrates balance and relation between different manners of perceiving the world. He suggests the contrast between the indirect encounter through the smartphone, and the direct(optical) experience through the camera lens, with his photographs and installation works.

Jo Jae observes the images spread over the city in relation to the prevailing sensibilities of the current time and translates them into works in abstract form. In this exhibition, she physically visualizes the digital images found around the city in the so-called 'post-internet' era with various industrial materials to demonstrate the phenomenon of constant interaction between the internet world and the real world. The smoothly shaped sculptures and installation work indicate the common attributes of digital images that are reflective, multiplicative, and recurrent.
