[Special Exhibition] Steps to Nature

The Kumho Museum of Art presents Steps to Nature, the solo exhibition of the photographer Juneyoung Lim. In this exhibition, the artist, who usually takes up urban landscape and modern architecture as the main subjects of his work, focuses on people spotted in the city. The two series displayed in this exhibition were begun during Lim's stay in New York. In Like Water series, Lim comments on the fast-paced mobility of the people that fundamentally operates the metropolitan city. The vibrant energy emanating from busy passersby trying to live their daily lives in the city is expressed in dynamic water splashes. Presented for the first time in this exhibition, The Museum Project captures an uncanny scene in the American Museum of Natural History where visitors are immersed in staged nature surrounded by the meticulously categorized nature and animal specimens.
