금호미술관

금호미술관 전관 '현재'는 다가올 ‘미래'를 가늠 짓는 중요한 일부가 된다. 그러므로 진정 바라보아야 할 ‘미래'의 큰 그림을 넓게 조망하는 것은 그 무엇보다 중요한 일이다. Tomorrow는 희망과 비전을 가지고 모두가 ‘미래'를 바라보는 계기를 만들고자 한다.허구적인 제도가 추구하는 이상적인 모습(Fiction)을 찾아보고, 미래의 상을 추동해 내는 성장엔진으로서의 힘(Power)을 살펴봄으로써 무한한 가능성(Possibility)으로 점철된 미래를 점쳐보며, 거대담론에서 벗어나 크고 작은 공동체(Community)로 이루어지는 활동을 통해 더 나은 행복한 미래에 대한 비전을 제시할 것이다. 이를 위해 김선정과 데이빗 로스가 함께 기획하고 사무소가 주최하는 Tomorrow전에서 국제 무대에서 주목 받고 있는 각국의 현대 미술작가 32인이 함께 참여하여 미래에 대한 비전을 공유하는 기회를 갖는다. 금호미술관과 아트선재센터에서 공동으로 열리는 이번 전시에서는 회화, 설치, 사진, 미디어 아트, 퍼포먼스 등과 같은 다양한 형태의 현대미술이 선보일 예정이다. 이와 함께 참여 작가 및 큐레이터를 초청하여 자유롭게 대화하며 관객들과 작품에 대한 생각을 나누는 자리가 마련된다. 또한 한국예술종합학교 미술원 주최로 "예술과 사회"라는 주제의 심포지엄이 개최되며 비디오 상영회가 전시기간 중 매 주말마다 열릴 예정이다. Perception of time is in a perpetual state of flux. Being that our modern-day world moves at faster pace than ever before, we tend to focus on the “present,” in the midst of this chaotic swirl. However, what is most important at this moment is the prospect of the “future.” Tomorrow aims to provide an opportunity to view the future with a profound hope and vision. Through an array of activities organized by the community, we will offer a vision of a brighter future. “Tomorrow” takes a look at what lies ahead with its infinite possibilities by means of seeking an ideal fiction and looking inside the power that forms our future. With participation of 32 international artists to share a vision for the future, Tomorrow, a new project organized by SAMUSO is co-curated by Sunjung Kim, David A. Ross, with advising curator Dan Cameron. Diverse fields of contemporary art including painting, installation, photography, media art, performance will be presented in Kumho Museum of Art and Artsonje Center. There will also be a month long program of video screening programs and artist talks as well as a symposium hosted by the Korean National University of Art.
